Two of George W. Bush's top 18 fund-raisers are from Cincinnati.
The names are no surprise: St. Louis Cardinals owner Bill DeWitt and Cincinnati Reds owner Carl Lindner each are listed as "Rangers" in the Bush re-election campaign's interim finance reports. That means they've raised $200,000 each.
Cintas Corp. chairman Richard Farmer is a "Pioneer," a designation reserved for those raising at least $100,000.
Overall, the campaign reported raising $34.4 million in the second quarter alone. That's more than all of the major Democratic candidates combined, the watchdog group Center for Responsive Politics said. Led by finance chairman Mercer Reynolds, a Cincinnatian, the campaign is hoping to raise up to $180 million before next summer.
