Blue Ash printer to cut workforce
Blue Ash printing firm S. Rosenthal & Co. is cutting employment after union employees refused to agree to share higher health benefit costs.
CEO Don Rahilly said the 135-year-old company, which prints TV Guide among other projects, has cut 30 jobs since the start of the month as it transfers work to a nonunion printing plant it operates in Nashville, Tenn.
The Blue Ash plant now employs 150.
Two months ago, the company said it planned to scale back operations because of its inability to negotiate cost-sharing and could eventually close entirely.
Rahilly said the company will eliminate another 25 jobs in the next three months as it moves work to the Tennessee plant.

According to an Ashland filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the suit filed in the Delaware Chancery Court in New Castle County, Del., also alleges breach of strategic alliance agreement between GEM Microelectronic Materials and Air Products.
Ashland said it is reviewing the complaint.
