Fitness calendar



Ride

Morning Glory Ride 2003, a 17-mile bike ride through Cincinnati, Newport and Covington, 4 a.m. Aug. 3. Register by Wednesday and pay $30 per adult for package (ride, breakfast and T-shirt) and $25 per child. New this year is registration for a family of four for $90. Enjoy a quiet, early-morning ride sponsored by the Miami Group of the Sierra Club. The ride ends with a sunrise breakfast, which will include fresh fruit, bagels, danish, French toast, muffins, biscuits and gravy, eggs, potatoes, muesli, juice, coffee and tea along the Serpentine Wall.

Start times will be staggered from 4-4:45 a.m., with more experienced riders leaving first.

Gift certificates donated by area bike shops will be awarded as door prizes. You must be present to win.

Run, bike

Triathlon and Duathlon Aug. 24 at Ottawa Metro Park, nearLima, Ohio. Races begin at 8 a.m. with a mandatory prerace meeting at 7 a.m. Registration $35 before Aug. 6.Details, race director Daniel Grime, (419) 223-6045, Ext. 304.

Sponsors are the Lima Family YMCA, Kewpee Restaurants, Lima Run and Jog Club and Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District.
