Hundreds gather for 'Jesus Jam' music campout

Allen Howard

About 600 kids were "jamming for Jesus" until daybreak today in an all-night Christian concert-campout at the Living Leaf Community Church property, 2752 U.S. 42, Mason.

It is the second annual Jesus Jam designed to help youth celebrate diverse local bands, life and the Lord Jesus, said Mary Beth Dunn, a member of the church.

"This is a Christian event for kids 13-17," she said, adding there were 40 to 50 adult chaperones who stayed the night, which featured 10 bands, deejays and speakers.

The event is sponsored by the church and its network youth ministries.
