Boy alerts Florence family to fire
The Cincinnati Enquirer
FLORENCE - An 11-year-old boy is being credited with helping alert a family that their home was on fire early Tuesday in this Boone County city.
"The young man was waking people up in the home simultaneously as the fire alarm went off," said Florence Fire Chief Jim McMillen. "He then went to neighbors' homes to alert them of the nearby fire."
Neighbors identified the boy as Jose Santos, who was living in the home rented by Rachel Sullivan.
The blaze broke out at 3:40 a.m. at a two-story, single-family residence in the 300 block of Center Park Drive. Three adults and Jose made it out of the home safely.
