Table for 400?

Where do you fall on the food chain? Find out when Food Chain Cincinnati celebrates its one-year anniversary, 1-5 p.m. Sunday at Raccoon Ridge in Winton Woods. "Chain" is a program that puts folks of diverse backgrounds together in dinner groups at ethnic restaurants in the area with the hope that something "extraordinary" will happen over dinner, organizers say. There are 400 people in the Food Chain database.

Come learn more about the club and bring a covered dish to share at this event, which will include live entertainment. RSVP at foodchaincincinnati@yahoo.com.

It's got our vote

Suffragette city: The League of Women Voters of Clermont County will honor a local woman who has made a difference in her community at the annual Suffragist Brunch 11:30 a.m-1 p.m. Aug. 16 at the Holiday Inn Eastgate. Who will it be? The nomination rules were simple: She must be a resident of Clermont County, and should show strong leadership qualities and courage. In other words, she should be willing to rock the boat, organizers say.

The award is named for Orpha Gatch (1892-1991), the first woman elected to the Milford School Board; in 1958 she helped create the first Clermont County League of Women Voters.

Tickets are $25. To reserve a spot, log on to www.LWVClermont.com and click on the "2003 Brunch" link.

Start 'em young

Get healthy: Make plans to attend the Child Wellness Fair Aug. 16 and 17 at the Albert B. Sabin Cincinnati Convention Center, Fifth and Elm streets, downtown, and you'll walk away with information on more than 40 topics, including asthma, adoption, nutrition and breastfeeding. Your kids will have a ball, too - they get to play games, learn about gardening, try scuba diving, try out a musical instrument and watch performances geared toward healthy living. They may even learn something. Organizers are looking for volunteers to help staff the event, too.

Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children, but you can save money by printing out a coupon from various Web sites, including the Enquirer's at Cincinnati.Com, keyword: Child Wellness. Each coupon will entitle you to two children's admissions plus two ride tickets with your adult ticket purchase. The fair will be open 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Aug. 16 and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Aug. 17. Details: 241-1879 or Web site.

Contests

Make mine mayo: The folks who make Hellman's mayonnaise want to throw you a party - and not just a barbecue in your back yard. Just log on to Web site

(click on Hellman's and then special events) and enter to win the party of your dreams, up to $25,000, that is. Contest runs until Aug. 31.
