Lightning started a small fire at a Florence apartment complex Saturday afternoon when another rash of storms swept through the Tristate.
Florence Fire Capt. Kelly Aylor said lightning hit the clubhouse roof of the Trellises apartment complex on Trellises Drive about 3 p.m. The fire was contained to the clubhouse attic, but caused about $50,000 in damage. Nobody was hurt, Aylor said.
Between 2 and 3 inches of rain fell on parts of the Tristate Saturday.
AccuWeather spokesman Kerry Schwindenhammer said flooding was reported in Oxford, parts of central Hamilton County and in Ripley County, Ind. Hail was also reported in Ripley County, he said.
Cinergy spokesman Steve Brash said about 4,500 Tristate homes lost power. Many outages occurred in Clermont County, central Hamilton County and in the Fairfield area of Butler County.
As of early Saturday evening, Cinergy had restored power to all but 50 homes, Brash said.
More scattered storms are forecasted for the area today and Monday. Sun and higher temperatures are forecast for Wednesday.
