Tourney time

What: Western & Southern Financial Group Masters, one of 13 "mandatory" events for top-ranked ATP players

When: Main draw (64 players), Aug. 11-17

Where: Lindner Family Tennis Center, Mason

Prize money: $2.45 million

Defending champion: Carlos Moya

Beneficiaries: The tournament has raised more than $5.3 million for Children's Hospital Medical Center since 1974. Last year's event raised $307,303. Since 1991, the Seniors event has raised $326,633 for Tennis For City Youth, a Cincinnati Recreation Commission program to help grassroots tennis in Cincinnati. Last year's event raised $35,000.

Schedule: Today, qualifier, 10 a.m. (tickets $10); Monday, main draw sessions, 11 a.m., 7 p.m. ($22); Tuesday, 11 a.m., 7 p.m. ($22); Wednesday, 11 a.m., 7 p.m. ($22); Thursday, 11 a.m., 7 p.m. ($24); Friday, 10:30 a.m., 7 p.m. ($28); Saturday, noon, 7 p.m. ($34); Sunday, 1 p.m. doubles final, followed by 4 p.m. singles final ($40).

Off the court

The Cincinnati Tennis Tournament Museum, in its fifth year, is open from 9 a.m.-9 p.m., starting Monday (9-5 today). It was created in 1999 to commemorate the first 100 years of tournament tennis in the city.

Monday is Kids Day - Children 14 and under get in for half-price. At 9:15 a.m. on Court 3, there will be clinics, and question-and-answer and autograph sessions with players.

Tuesday is Lazarus Ladies Day - There is a brunch featuring the modeling of sportswear and designer-label fashions. It's $18 for the brunch only, $40 for the brunch and that day's matches. Call 651-0303 for information.

Tuesday is also High School Tennis Team Day - There will be an on-court clinic and Skyline Chili lunch for $20 a person, including the day's matches ($18 a person with groups larger than 10). Call 651-0303 for information.
