Top pick: This sounds so bad it could be pretty good: Roseanne Barr has no luck pitching her cooking show to Court TV and the Food Network, before ABC Family expresses interest in the series, on The Real Roseanne Show (9-10 p.m., Channels 9, 2).

• TV critic John Kiesewetter also "D'Oh!" Fox plugs a Wednesday hole with The Simpsons (8:30 p.m., Channels 19, 45), still one of the best shows on TV.

24 hours out: Indy racing legend Johnny Rutherford is at the Newport Barnes & Noble to sign and discuss his memoir Lone Star J.R., a behind-the-scenes look at life in the racing world, 7 p.m. Thursday, Newport on the Levee. (859) 581-2000.

48 hours out: The Southwest Ohio Bluegrass Festival serves up two days of nonstop music with bands such as Friends in Bluegrass, Crossroads, Vernon McIntyre's Appalachian Grass, One Iota and more. Noon-midnight Friday-Saturday, Clearwater Air Park, U.S. 50, two miles east of Owensville (Clermont County), $20 per day ($35 for two-day pass). 688-1303.

Also 48 hours out: Midwest Regional Black Family Reunion weekend kicks off with the annual parade, 10 a.m.-noon, starting at Queensgate Park, Linn and Court streets, Queensgate. 742-9378.

72 hours 'til Saturday: The Child Wellness Fair (formerly the All About Kids Expo) fills the Albert B. Sabin Convention Center with information booths, interactive activities, sports and more for kids of all ages, 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, Fifth and Elm streets, downtown. $5 (children free with paying adult). 241-1879.
