The experience of being at the Junior Olympic National Championships in Miami, Fla., last month has the Lincoln Heights YMCA Track Club dreaming of going back, said Christopher Lee, interim director of the Y.
In the national competition, Mikeal Roberts and Maurice Norman placed third in the 200-meter dash; Roberts placed fourth, Norman third and De' Andre Pitts fifth in the 100-meter dash.

In the 100-meter relays Kimberly Flanigan, DeAirra Pringle, Whitney Jackson, Kaylah Howard, Tiana Moore, Nakesha Alexander, Evelyn Cooper, Roberts, Jamol Morris, DaVon Pitts, Darius Murray and Norman all placed third.
Quierra Drake, Kiara Allen, Montrail Roberts and Jasmin Griffin placed fifth; Ronald Harris, Pitts, Darnell Gilbert and Orlando Williams placed sixth. Andrea Vessels placed sixth in the long jump.
Golf scramble
More than 200 golfers will help raise money for the Cincinnati Area Cystic Fibrosis Foundation when they scramble in the Xavier University Student Government Association's 14th Annual Fenwick Open Charity Golf Outing.
The event is set for 1:30 p.m. Oct. 11 at the Pebble Creek Golf Course, 9799 Prechtel Road. For more information, call 745-3345 or 745-4242.
Winning designs
A local architect received national honors for design of fire departments, given by Primedia's Fire Chief magazine.
Winners are: Cole and Russell Architects Inc. downtown, first place for design of the Greendale Volunteer Fire Department and third place for designing the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting North Facility.
