Cody Pickett, Washington, QB, Hot (8): Pickett can grab the early lead for the Heisman race with a win and a few touchdown passes Saturday at defending national champion Ohio State.

Ell Roberson, Kansas State, QB, Hot (8): Roberson could not have asked for a better start than his 205 passing yards, 145 rushing yards and three touchdown passes last Saturday against California.

Roy Williams, Texas, WR, Hot (7): Everyone expects Williams to be the best wide receiver in college football this year. Sunday against New Mexico State, he needs to put up the numbers to match those expectations.

Philip Rivers, N.C. State, QB, Hot (7): Rivers has a big challenge looming in two weeks at Ohio State. Today he can pad his stats against Western Carolina.

Maurice Clarett, Ohio State, RB, Not (3): Unless he can rush for 2,000 yards in half a season, Clarett can forget it.
