Rivalry of the Week
Louisville at Kentucky
Sunday, 6:30 p.m., ESPN2:
The battle for the Governor's Cup, currently owned by Kentucky, features two new head coaches this year - Rich Brooks for UK, Bobby Petrino for
Louisville.
UK shut out Louisville in the first six games of this series, which ended temporarily in 1924. After a 70-year hiatus, it resumed in 1994 and has been played
every year since, with Louisville owning a 5-4 advantage since then.
In 1998, UK ruined Louisville's debut in its new stadium with a 68-34 drubbing in which UK quarterback Tim Couch threw seven touchdown passes and the Wildcats gained 801 yards.
Louisville is looking for an unprecedented third straight win in Lexington.
