Hometown: Westminster, Md.
Age: 31
Medium: Steel, fabric, tissue, obtanium
Finest hour: It seems that each time I'm pulling a work together, whether it's tweaking a Massive (sculpture shows) exhibition or lashing limbs together three stories off the ground in a cherry picker at 4 a.m. in the pouring rain, there is a sense of giddiness, of clarity, of moments where my eyes are amazed at my hands' ability to create, to focus.
Day job: Toy sculptor and mold maker at Sculpco Inc., technician for River City Works Sculpture and Glass, adjunct professor at the Art Academy of Cincinnati, co-curator and exhibiting artist for Massive.
Secret ambition: Besides wanting to fly or taking a crack at being a crime fighter? I desperately want to become a cat burglar ... no, no ... owning a farm among quiet rolling hills and big skies where I can forge steel, make flying machines and dream of movies I need to make.
What's next? Massive: Presence. This one is huge. Not only do we have 30 plus artists involved but we are part of the Enjoy the Arts 20/20 festival and we'll be showcased in the International Sculpture Center's International Sculpture Cities: Cincinnati. I'm also gearing up to complete with my mates at Thin Air Studio for a chance at building a sculpture in Munich, Germany, for the Munich Horticultural Exhibition known as Buga in 2005.
