Hillenbrand expects higher earnings
Hillenbrand Industries Inc. on Tuesday raised its earnings expectations for the fourth quarter and year ending Sept. 30. The company's stock closed at $57.64, up 5 percent.
The Batesville, Ind., health-care and funeral services provider said it expects earnings per share, excluding special items, of $1.08 to $1.11, up from the prior $1.03 to $1.08 for the fourth quarter.
For the full year, Hillenbrand said it expects earnings per share of $3.95 to $3.98, up from the prior $3.90 to $3.95.
GE Aircraft wins Turkey contract
GE Aircraft Engines and its partner Snecma Moteurs have won a $40 million engine order with U.S. government approval of the sale of four CFM56-7-powered Boeing 737s to the government of Turkey.
The aircraft, slated for delivery in 2006, are Airborne Early Warning and Control jets, dubbed "Peace Eagle'' by Turkey. The aircraft are a derivative of the Boeing 737-700 increased gross weight planes, designed to carry more fuel for greater range.
Cadence Network officers add titles
Cadence Network's top two officers now have additional titles.
Madeleine Ludlow, the Cincinnati company's chief executive, was named chairman. Jeff Hart, chief operating officer, has added the title of president.
Cadence provides software and service to manage customers' utilities, sanitation, maintenance and operations functions at multiple locations.
Cadence is privately held.
