Industry supply firms merge
Waltz-Dettmer Supply Co., a Queensgate-based industrial supply firm, has acquired rival V.N. Devou Supply Co., a 106-year-old industrial supplier also in Queensgate.
The purchase price wasn't disclosed, but Waltz-Dettmer said it will move inventory and operations of V.N. Devou to its headquarters on Depot Street. Last year, Waltz-Dettmer made acquisitions in Cleveland and Columbus and expanded its Morton Salt distribution of deicing and water softening salts in the region.
Delta has sale on Hawaii route
Delta Air Lines Wednesday announced a fare sale to Hawaii that includes the soon-to-be-launched route between Cincinnati and Honolulu.
A seven-day advance round-trip ticket will cost $608 excluding some fees if travel is completed before Dec. 15 from the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. The normal price for that fare is $1,140.
Delta plans on launching the direct flight to Honolulu Nov. 1, using a 285-seat Boeing 767-400 aircraft for the nine-hour flight. Tickets for the fare sales must be bought by Oct. 29 and at least seven days before departure. A three-night minimum stay is required, and there are several blackout dates around Thanksgiving, although travel can take place on any day of the week.
When Delta originally announced the new route in June, the introductory fare was $549, but those fares are no longer available.
