Latin flavor spices up the night

In the midst of the 19th-century dress that defines Cincinnati's past, a distinctly different flavor of Americana tantalized Tall Stacks Wednesday night.

Latin Americana, to be exact - inside the tent at the Great American Insurance stage. Before about 1,000, the 11-member Cincinnati salsa and meringue band Latin X-Posure pounded out infectious rhythms.

"It's more Latin or Mexico than anything,'' says Wanda Jackson of Dayton, Ohio.

She isn't swaying to the rhythm, Jackson explains, because "I take dance lessons, but those are just ballroom.''
