Meeting to delve into Williamsburg levy

WILLIAMSBURG - An informational meeting about the Williamsburg Local School District tax levy on the November ballot will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the high school. The public is invited.

The ballot issue is an 8.7-mill renewal and increase of an existing emergency levy that would raise $846,581 for the district in each of the next five years. It would cost the owner of a $100,000 home $266.

Debate on needs of Madeira schools

MADEIRA - A community roundtable will be held for Madeira residents 6:30-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Madeira Junior-Senior High School, 7465 Loannes Drive, to help examine options for facilities needs.

Springboro seeks opinions at meeting

SPRINGBORO - Residents here will have one more chance to comment on plans to increase space for students in the Springboro Community Schools.

A community meeting on a master plan is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday at Springboro High School, 1675 S. Main St.

School officials will update residents on selection of future school sites, along with getting input on how many new schools should be built and what they should look like.

Architects Steed-Hammond-Paul will conduct the meeting, including polling residents on options that will be presented.

Call for volunteers in Deer Park area

DEER PARK - Volunteers are needed to serve as tutors for Deer Park Community School's Friends with Books program. Tutors spend 30 to 60 minutes a week.

Tichenor hosts crafts for family

ERLANGER - Tichenor Middle School's Youth Service Center will have a family craft night 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The event is free. All Tichenor students and their parents are invited to come and to make a Thanksgiving decoration.

The center is located in the Ensor Educational Annex next to Tichenor Middle, 305 Bartlett Ave. The annex is at the farthest end of Tichenor, facing Cowie Avenue. Participants should enter Parking Lot C and go down the steps into the center.

Literacy meeting in W. Clermont school

WITHAMSVILLE - Students and parents are invited to attend a literacy meeting, 6-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Withamsville-Tobasco Elementary School, 733 Ohio Pike.

Teachers will instruct parents on how to help their children become better readers. Refreshments and babysitting will be provided.
