Real Trial

Skin cream difference amounts to fine line

By Joy Kraft
The Cincinnati Enquirer

We're sending our volunteer Fashion Panel members to the shelves from time to time to test whether advertised beauty products live up to their promises. Here are results reported by Julie Sullivan, 50, of Hyde Park, who tried Neutrogena's Visibly Firm Night Cream.

Promise: Improves skin's firmness, helps redefine the jaw line and smoothes fine lines and wrinkles. See results in two weeks.

The search: Easily found at Walgreens.

Cost: $19.25 for 1.7 ounces.

Ease of use: "Directions instructed to apply nightly to face and neck. The cream is nongreasy and soaks in quickly."

Product performance: "I felt a tightening sensation on my skin initially. Then my skin felt somewhat dry. I did use it under makeup a couple of times, but did not find it moist enough."

Results: "I have used other products that I felt worked just as well. I think that consistency with any product will yield some results."

Rank: "A good product at a reasonable price."

Reuse? "I believe I see a small difference and would consider buying it again, although there are other products I feel work just as well. I would give it a 6 on a scale of 10 based on price and results."
