Kentucky obituaries



The Kentucky Enquirer publishes free obituaries of residents in Boone, Campbell, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton and Pendleton counties. Boone County

Melvin E. Elslager

BURLINGTON - Melvin E. Elslager, 79, a farmer and World War II Army veteran, died Tuesday at his home.

Among the survivors are his wife, Juanita; and two daughters, Susan Ingram and Kathy Murphy.

Visitation, including a Masonic service at 8 p.m., will be from 5-8:30 p.m. today at Stith Funeral Home. Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Burlington Cemetery.

Memorials: Gethsemane United Methodist Church of Burlington, 2776 Burlington Pike, Burlington, KY 41005.

Campbell County

Ralph C. Swift

ALEXANDRIA - Ralph C. Swift, 66, a self-employed CPA, died Tuesday at his home.

Mr. Swift was a former conductor and brakeman for the Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad, and a former employee for the Kentucky Revenue Cabinet.

Among the survivors are his wife, Shirley; his mother, Edith Swift; and a daughter, Diana Healy.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. and service 8 p.m. Thursday at Alexandria Funeral Home. Mr. Swift's body was cremated.

Memorials: St. Elizabeth Hospice Program, 401 E. 20th St., Covington, KY 41014-9988.

Dorothy J. Losey

FORT THOMAS - Dorothy "Dottie" J. Losey, 66, an accountant, died Friday at University Hospital in Cincinnati.

Among the survivors are her husband, Ray; and three sons, Butch, Dan and Greg.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at A.C. Dobbling & Son Funeral Home in Fort Thomas. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Thomas Church in Fort Thomas. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery in Fort Thomas.

Kenton County

Loreda Estenfelder

COVINGTON - Loreda "Chip" Estenfelder, 94, retired owner of the Estenfelder Realty Co., which operated in Covington and Florence, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Covington.

Her son Harold Moody Chipley died in 1970.

She was the owner of the former Madison Avenue Beauty Shop in Covington, and was a member of the Democratic Women's Club of Kenton County.

She is survived by three sisters, Kathryn Slade Fightmaster, Elizabeth Slade Iorfida, and Wilma Nicholas.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and service 1 p.m. Friday at Connley Brothers Funeral Home in Covington. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Taylor Mill.

Memorials: First United Methodist Church, 5th and Greenup streets, Covington, KY 41011.

Charles T. Magee

COVINGTON - Charles T. Magee, 72, a retired driver for Smith Transfer Co., and a Korean War Army veteran, died Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood.

He is survived by two daughters, Gayla and Charla Magee.

Visitation is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and service is 1 p.m. today at Allison & Rose Funeral Home in Covington. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Fort Mitchell.

Marian D. Morse

FORT MITCHELL - Marian Dodd Morse, 61, of Chevy Chase, Md., a legal secretary, died Oct. 16 at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Md.

She is survived by two sons, Stephen and Brian; a brother, Edward J. Dodd; a sister, Anne Locke, and two grandchildren.

A memorial Mass will be 10:15 a.m. Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Church, Fort Mitchell. A service also was held in Maryland. Pumphrey Funeral Home in Rockville, Md., handled arrangements.

Memorials: National Foundation for Cancer Research, 4600 East-West Highway, Suite 525, Bethesda, MD 20814.

Helen Creamer

INDEPENDENCE - Helen June Creamer, 66, of Cynthiana, a homemaker, died Sunday at her home.

Among the survivors are two daughters, Brenda Tesch and Angie Rehmet; and two sons, Vince and Daryl.

Service will be 1 p.m. today at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Fort Mitchell.

Memorials: Hospice of the Bluegrass, 508 E. Pike St., Cynthiana, KY 41031.

Ulysses G. Browning

RYLAND - Ulysses G. Browning, 88, formerly of Letcher County, a carpenter for more than 50 years with Carpenters Union Local 697, died Monday at Mountaincrest Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Cincinnati.

Mr. Browning was a founding member of Community Pentecostal Church of God in Taylor Mill, and a former teacher in Leslie County, Ky.

He is survived by his wife for 65 years, Eureka Colwell Browning; two daughters, Maxie Jane Wolfinbarger and Tammy Gwendolyn Gulley; and six sons, Joseph, Grant, Daniel, Jack, Cletis and Ricky.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. today at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence. Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Community Pentecostal Church of God, 11875 Taylor Mill Road. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Taylor Mill.

Memorials can be made to the Ulysses Browning Memorial Fund, care of any U.S. Bank branch.
