Warnick Co., a Blue Ash supplier of prepared meals to U.S. troops, is accepting bids to buy the privately held firm, according to an Internet report that it acknowledged Friday.
The online newsletter "Daily Deal" reported that Wornick could command an asking price of $140 million to $160 million. Warnick officials declined to comment to the Enquirer. But local official Ron Davis said "it's fair to say" that there was bidding for the company continuing.
Warnick has hired Quarterdeck Investment Partners LLC in Washington, D.C., to handle the bidding, and officials there declined to comment.Warnick makes meals ready-to-eat, known as MREs, for the U.S. military. Earlier this year, it got a $60 million contract from the Defense Logistics Agency to supply military and humanitarian rations.
