A rash of robberies of delivery drivers has pizza shops across the Greater Cincinnati area on alert.
"We're always concerned," Ray Webber, a manager at Angilo's Pizza in Norwood, said Saturday. "We've started to limit the amount of money the drivers have on them."
In the past week, there have been at least four such robberies in Hamilton County.
"Four is an unusually high number," said Mike Natali, owner of Milano's Pizzeria in Sharonville.
"We've gotten to know most of our customers," Natali said.
The most recent robberies occurred Friday night in Avondale. Shortly after 8 p.m., a pizza driver was robbed at gunpoint in the 800 block of Mitchell Avenue, officials said.
Hours later, a second delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint in the 800 block of Burnet Avenue.
No arrests had been made in either case, Cincinnati police said Saturday.
On Oct. 17, two men in Sycamore Township robbed a Domino's delivery driver at knifepoint.
The driver struggled with one of the men, but was unharmed. His wallet and car were taken. The car was found a day later.
On Oct. 20, a Pizza Hut driver in Anderson Township was robbed at knifepoint. The robber drove away with the victim still inside his car. The delivery driver was let go a short distance away and the car was later found abandoned.
