Workshop participants hone skills in serving others



READING - Four Mount Notre Dame High School students recently participated in the Student Service Leadership Workshop offered by the Mayerson Foundation. They were:

Lori Brenneman, West Chester Township, who participates in Student Task Force, Adopt-A-Sis, and Reach Out Lakota.

Megan Farris, Mason, who serves as a lector and greeter at St. Bartholomew, and as a tutor at South Lebanon Elementary Schools.

Kelly Friedman, Sharonville, who volunteers at The Lodge and serves as a Eucharistic minister.

Britta Halpin, Amberley Village, a member of Adopt-A-Sis who volunteers for Tender Mercies and the American Red Cross.

Fall fling at McAuley High

COLLEGE HILL - The McAuley High School Alumnae Association will sponsor a Fall Fling from noon-4 p.m. Sunday in the cafeteria, 6000 Oakwood Ave. There will be craft booths, home party products, raffles, massages, demonstrations, children's crafts and a used formal dress sale. Holiday bazaar at Goddard

LOVELAND - The Goddard School, 1214 Ridgewood Drive, is hosting a holiday bazaar noon-4 p.m. Saturday at the school.

Nativity School has open house

PLEASANT RIDGE - Nativity School principal Bob Herring will host an open house 7 p.m. Thursday at the school, 5936 Ridge Ave.

Art teacher Mindy Burger is offering a class in which families make a clay Nativity set. It meets at 7:15 p.m. at school on Nov. 3, 10, 17 and 24.

Prospects invited to Mercy High

WESTWOOD - Mother of Mercy High School will host an open house for prospective students who are in the seventh or eighth grade Sunday at the school, 3036 Werk Road. Girls and their parents may attend programs and tours at: 12:30 p.m., 1:15 p.m. or 2 p.m.

Fall fund raiser at Newport Central

NEWPORT - Newport Central Catholic High School will host its fall festival fund-raiser 1-9 p.m. Sunday in the gymnasium, 13 Carothers Road. There will be a turkey dinner, games for kids and raffles. Information: (859) 292-0001.

Halloween party at Ursuline

BLUE ASH - Ursuline Academy will host its annual Halloween Carnival for children 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the school, 5535 Pfeiffer Road. There is no charge for the carnival, which includes games and treats.

There will be an open house from noon to 3 p.m., Sunday for eighth grade girls and their parents.

Alumni awards dinner at Bacon

ST. BERNARD - Roger Bacon's annual Alumni Awards dinner will begin Saturday with a 5 p.m. Mass in the school auditorium, followed by a social hour and dinner. Cost is a $25 per person. Reservations: 641-1313.
