Kentucky obituaries



The Kentucky Enquirer publishes free obituaries of residents in Boone, Campbell, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton and Pendleton counties. Boone County

Helen Collins

FLORENCE - Helen Jane Elliott Collins, 89, a retired quality controller for Levi Strauss and member of the First Church of Christ in Burlington, died Monday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Center, Covington.

Her husband, J.T., preceded her in death. Survivors include a son, William; and a daughter, Shirley McCausland.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Chambers & Grubbs in Florence, with a service and burial following at Independence Cemetery, Independence.

Memorials: First Church of Christ, 6080 Camp Ernst Road, Burlington, KY 41005.

Rita Marsh

VERONA - Rita Thelma Pennington Marsh, 82, a homemaker and member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Verona, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Center, Covington.

Her husband, Ralph, preceded her in death. Survivors include four sons, Ronnie, Bill, Curt and Gary; and two daughters, Joy Owen and Rita Doerr.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today, with service at 11 a.m. Friday at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home in Verona. Burial will be in New Bethel Cemetery, Verona.

Memorials: St. Elizabeth Hospice Program, 401 E. 20th St., Covington, KY 41014-9988.

Campbell County

Joyce McCoy

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS - Joyce McCoy, 71, a homemaker, died Monday at Highland Heights Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

A son, Robert, died in 1996.

Survivors include sons, Michael, Todd and Edward; and daughters, Jackie Bell, Jennifer Woodall and Raechel Price.

Visitation will be 10:30-11 a.m. Friday, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Joseph Church, Cold Spring. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Cincinnati.

Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Homes, Fort Thomas, is handling arrangements.

Memorials: St. Joseph Church Building Fund, 4011 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, KY 41076.

Judith Lynn Mosley

NEWPORT - Judith Lynn Mosley, 63, who was a registered nurse at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South for 15 years, died Tuesday at Baptist Convalescent Center in Newport.

A son, James, preceded her in death.

Survivors include sons, John, David, Gerald and Joseph; and a daughter, Melinda Ann Hubbard.

Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Friday, with a service following at Linnemann Funeral Home in Burlington. Burial will be in Burlington Cemetery.

Kenton County

Esther Volpenhein

PARK HILLS - Esther E. Berling Volpenhein, 79, a homemaker and member of the Hilltoppers Senior Club and St. Agnes Church in Fort Wright, died Tuesday at her home.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph "Whitey" Volpenhein; two sons, Dan and Gary; and two daughters, Mary Jo McFadden and Kathy Wilfong.

Visitation will be 10-11:30 a.m. Friday, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Agnes Church. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.

Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Park Hills, is handling arrangements.
