U of CINCINNATI - Three out of 23 awards given in a student design competition sponsored by I.D., the international design magazine, went to recent graduates of University of Cincinnati's College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning.
The three were chosen out of more than 500 entries from North and South America, Europe and Asia for work they did at DAAP to resolve real-world problems.

Wilmington kicks off campaign
Wilmington College - Wilmington College has started a $17 million fund-raising effort under the theme "A Living, A Life, A Difference. The Campaign for Wilmington College."
School officials say 65 percent of the goal has been committed in the largest and most comprehensive fund-raising campaign in the college's 133-year history. The $17 million goal exceeds the combined $14.6 million raised in the school's four previous campaigns.
College officials want to raise money to renovate and expand the former Boyd Auditorium, increase endowments and put more money toward school operations.
Xavier to host theology speaker
Xavier U - Father Joseph A. Komonchak, chairman of religious studies at the Catholic University of America, will join several faculty members in Xavier University's theology department to present "The Second Vatican Council: Gift and Unfinished Task" at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the Cintas Center banquet room on Xavier's campus in Evanston.
The presentation is part of a series of events the university is hosting between 2002 and 2005 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965). The series is an effort by school officials to foster a more complete understanding of the council's efforts and the impact they have on the contemporary lives of those in the Catholic Church.
The event is free and open to the public.
