NEWPORT - Darlena J. Brown, Campbell County Housing executive director, has been appointed to a national housing committee.
Brown will serve a two-year term on the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials' member services committee.
The committee serves the interests of members that cut across program and professional lines. The committee also represents concerns of special-interest groups within the membership, including minorities, commissioners and women, and addresses organizational issues.
Brown has been in the housing industry the past 13 years.
Before working for Campbell Fiscal Court, she was deputy director of the Housing Authority of Cynthiana.
She also served on the board of directors for the Kentucky Housing Association the past five years and she was president of the Kentucky Housing Association last year.
