Kentucky obituaries



The Kentucky Enquirer publishes free obituaries of residents in Boone, Campbell, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton and Pendleton counties. Funeral homes may call (859) 578-5555 Monday through Friday; (513) 768-8600 Saturdays and Sundays. Some information may be omitted from obituaries to ensure that the most notices can be published.

Boone County

Delores Lenara

FLORENCE - Delores "Dee" Lawson Lenara, 74, formerly of Falmouth, died Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood.

She was a retired claims adjuster for the U.S. Internal Revenue Service.

Survivors include three daughters, Terri Bonar-Stewart, Darla Kettenaker and Linda Wiese.

Visitation will be 9-11:30 a.m., followed by a service at noon Saturday at Linnemann Funeral Home in Burlington.

Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Erlanger.

Memorials: American Cancer Society, Northern Kentucky Unit, Nicholas Center, Suite A-2, 6612 Dixie Highway, Florence, KY 41042.

Campbell County

Marjorie Campbell

NEWPORT - Marjorie Campbell, 79, a homemaker and member of the American Legion James Costigan Post, Lawler Hanlon VFW Ladies Auxiliary, died Wednesday at her daughter's home.

Survivors include five sons, Roy, George and Russell Campbell, and Augustus and Anthony Melchion; and three daughters, Midge Hitt, Peggy Schweitzer and Margie Walz.

Her husband, Roy, died in 1981, as did her son, Walter, in 1984, and her daughter, Lillian Callahan, in 2001.

Visitation will be 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, followed by a service at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home in Newport.

Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Taylor Mill.

Elizabeth Massey

NEWPORT - Elizabeth McFarland Massey, 73, a homemaker, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood.

Survivors include her son, Larry Freimuth; a brother, Houston McFarland, and two sisters, Mary Bales and Matilda Payne.

Visitation will be noon to 4 p.m. today, and a service at 10 a.m. Saturday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home in Covington. Burial will be a Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.

Clement Leo Bezold

FORT THOMAS - Clement Leo Bezold, 80, a World War II veteran, and retired director and appraiser for Sunrise Federal Savings and Loan Association in Newport, died Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Mills Bezold; a son, Clement Leo Bezold Jr.; and three daughters, Linda Crawford, Sally Schatteman and Carole Witte.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., followed by a service conducted by Newport Lodge No. 273 BPOE today at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home in Fort Thomas. A prayer service at 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home will be followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Therese Church in Southgate.

Burial will be in Independence Cemetery, Independence.

Memorial: Charity of the donor's choice.

Kenton County

Arthur B. Taylor

COVINGTON - Arthur B. Taylor, 88, of New Era, Mich., formerly of Covington, died Sunday in Shelby, Mich. The World War II veteran had been a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Latonia.

Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Smith Taylor; a son, Bruce; two daughters, Mary Pack and Sarah Peterson; a stepson, Steven Smith; and three stepdaughters, Sharon Raskiewicz, Marcia Fekken and Lois Satterlee. His first wife, Mary Clyde Taylor, died in 1982.

A service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Taylor Mill.

Elmer H. Hanneken

CRESTVIEW HILLS - Elmer H. "Bob" Hanneken, 77, of San Diego, formerly of Crestview Hills, died Sept. 28 in San Diego. The World War II veteran worked until recently for Adult Protective Services for the Veterans Affairs Hospital in La Jolla, Calif.

Survivors include three daughters, Maureen Lusby, Karen Thoss and Barbara Lehman. His son, Michael, preceded him in death in 1984.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Agnes Church in Fort Wright. Interment will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright.

Pendleton County

Tilford Menefee

DEMOSSVILLE - Tilford E. "Pete" Menefee, 90, an Army veteran and member of Wilmington Baptist Church, died Tuesday in Veterans Hospital, Cincinnati.

Survivors include five sons, James, Michael, Ike, Roger and Gary; and three daughters, Regina Menefee Webber, Rebecca McNamee and Oma Renee Acree.

His daughter, Brenda Moore, died in 2002.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today with a service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Homes in Independence. Burial will be at Gardnersville Cemetery, Gardnersville.

Memorials: Wilmington Baptist Church, 15472 Madison Pike, Morning View, KY 41063.
