"Like father, like son" is the adage that applies when it comes to Harry C. Frisby Jr.'s eye for fine tailoring and fashion. His dad was a master tailor.
Frisby, 59, chief security officer for Cincinnati Public Schools, cuts such a fine fashion figure that a dozen members of his Security Response Team nominated the Roselawn resident.
Describe your style: Professional. I usually wear a suit every day, almost every place I go. I may get a little casual at church now and then with a sports coat, but even working in homicide 18 years, I've been tied to a tie most of my life.
Earliest fashion memory: My dad made me a plaid suit in the third or fourth grade, and there wasn't a place that the plaids didn't match. That sort of swung me into fashion.
You can never have enough: Beautiful sweaters and nice shirts. I don't spend money just to spend. I look for bargains. But I do have shirts I haven't worn yet.
You can be found shopping at: All over the city and at K&G Men's Superstore and Kenwood Towne Centre.
Favorite labels, designers: Geoffrey Beene, Van Heusen. I like a nice collar that doesn't make you look like you are going to fly away - with the edges turned up.
If you had big bucks you'd buy: I really don't want anything. I'm happy with what I have. I am a simple, low-key guy. I don't go out and say, "I've got to have this or that." God has provided and I am blessed.
Favorite finishing touch: I love a great cologne. That's the icing on the cake for me. I love Karl Lagerfeld colognes, especially Photo.
Sentimental clothing: I love the sweaters my sister gives me, really neat, colorful golf sweaters. This time of year they are great. I'd probably shoot par the day I wear one.
Best bargain: Over 30 years ago when I was overseas I got great deals on custom-made suits.
Signature look: Colorful shirts and ties.
