Man killed in crash, another critical

MOUNT AIRY - A 19-year-old Mount Healthy man was killed Thursday afternoon in a collision on Colerain Avenue.
Cincinnati police identified the victim as George Lopez. He died at University Hospital after the 12:37 p.m. crash. Police said Charles Cowan Jr., 28, of Colerain Township was driving south in the 4900 block of Colerain when he crossed the center line and struck a northbound vehicle.
Cowan was treated for minor injuries at Mercy Franciscan Hospital-Mount Airy. Lopez was a passenger in the Cowan vehicle, police said.
Another passenger in Cowan's vehicle, Joshua T. Grimes, 29, of Mount Healthy, was in critical condition at University Hospital late Thursday.
The other driver, Jimmy L. Green, 68, Walnut Hills, and his passenger, James Woods, 60, Mount Airy, were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital and released.
