ALEXANDRIA - The Campbell County School Board wants to hear your ideas for a new superintendent.
The board is seeking parents' opinions on the qualities desired in whomever will replace Roger Brady, who retired as superintendent in September. Parents can express their views by filling out a form in the districtwide newsletter, which will be mailed to each home this month.
To discuss the issue with board members, the public is invited to a "Come and Go" session 6-8 p.m. Dec. 2 at Campbell County Middle School, 8000 Alexandria Pike.
Also on the agenda for that session: Ideal school start times for elementary, middle- and high-school students.

Coming week is to honor teachers
CRESTVIEW HILLS - Educators across the region will celebrate Northern Kentucky Education Week Nov. 10-14. The main event is a dinner at 6 p.m. Monday at Thomas More College.
About 100 outstanding educators will be recognized, along with the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce's business-school partnership program, BEST (Business Education Success Team).
Keynote speaker for the evening is chamber president Gary Toebben. Education week is sponsored by Northern Kentucky Council of Partners in Education.

Poster competition for Veterans Day
EDGEWOOD - Students at Turkey Foot Middle School will celebrate Veterans Day with a poster contest to be judged today. The theme is "Leadership on the Battlefield." Instructional assistant Carol Crout and teacher Ed Cook are coordinating the contest.
Alumni raise money for defibrillator
COVINGTON - The Holmes High School Alumni Association is raising money to buy a defibrillator that can be used to restart hearts in medical emergencies. Holmes principal Ray Finke asked for the group's help in purchasing the device.
The association already has conducted fund-raising to assist the school's library and its computer, audiovisual and athletic departments.

Students to salute veterans, other heroes
INDEPENDENCE - Students at Beechgrove Elementary School, 1029 Bristow Road, will celebrate Veterans Day 1:30 p.m. Tuesday with a salute to local heroes such as active-duty servicemen and women, veterans, firefighters, police officers and emergency medical workers.
Parents have sent pictures of active-duty service members to be used in a slide show.
The school's drama team and chorus will perform a play titled A Pageant of the Pledge and everyone will be wearing "United We Stand" T-shirts.
