Church anniversary

COLD SPRING - St. Luke Lutheran Church, 3917 Alexandria Pike, will have a 50th -year anniversary service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

Indoor antiques market

FORT MITCHELL - The "Monthly Indoor Antiques Marketplace" will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Drawbridge Inn's London Hall.

Adult admission is $3.

Space flight basics

UNION - Find out what astronauts needed to have the "right stuff," at the free one-hour program "Space Flight Basics" at 7 p.m. Monday at the Scheben Branch of the Boone County Public Library.

Jeff Foster of Boone County, and a former NASA contractor who taught astronauts about the rigors of space flight, will lead the program.

Both the triumphs and the tragedies will be featured in the presentation. It will begin with the earliest manned space flights, and continue through landing on the moon, the current shuttle program and the international space station.

The library is at 8899 U.S. 42 in Union.

Explore being volunteer

COVINGTON - An information session about how to volunteer to visit people in nursing homes will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the offices of Senior Services of Northern Kentucky at 1032 Madison Ave.

Volunteers usually spend about three hours per month getting to know residents of a nursing home. Volunteers may also become a certified ombudsman and help work to resolve complaints.

Veterans benefit

NEWPORT - On Veterans Day Tuesday, veterans will receive half-price admission to the Newport Aquarium, and anyone with a valid active duty or retired military identification card gets in free.

Mutual fund workshop

UNION - A workshop on how to choose a mutual fund will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Scheben Branch of the Boone County Public Library, 8899 U.S. 42 in Union.

FLORENCE - The Goddard School craft and vendor fair will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 15.
