Holy Cross invites visitors and puts on a stage play

COVINGTON - It's going to be a busy week at Holy Cross High School, beginning with today's 7 p.m. open house for prospective students for the 2004-05 school year.

Tours will be given and the faculty will be available to answer questions at the school, 3617 Church St.

Holy Cross also presents The Enchantment of Beauty and the Beast 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 3 p.m. Sunday in the auditorium at Holmes High School, 2500 Madison Ave.

Waldorf School has open house

WINTON PLACE - The Cincinnati Waldorf School will hold an open house 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the school, 745 Derby Ave.

Events include tours, a puppet play, displays of student work and discussions with staff. Information: 541-0220.

Christian Schools welcome a visit

FAIRFIELD - Cincinnati Christian Schools will hold open houses at both campuses today.

The Fairfield campus, 7350 Dixie Highway, will be open 6:30-7:30 p.m. and features the work of students in grades K-5. The middle-high school's open house, 7474 Morris Road, is set for 7-8 p.m..

St. Xavier play is a dark comedy

FINNEYTOWN - St. Xavier High School presents Red Noses, a dark comedy about the years during the black plague in a small town in France, on Friday and Saturday and Nov. 20-22.

Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. at the school, 600 W. North Bend Road, Finneytown. Tickets are $6.

Pennies collected at Cardinal Pacelli

MOUNT LOOKOUT - Students at Cardinal Pacelli School will compete in a penny war today and Wednesday to raise money for the Sisters of Mercy.

Jugs with each homeroom's name will be put on the gymnasium stage each morning.

Classes get points for every penny put in the jar. Points are subtracted for coins other than pennies in the jars. The class with the most points will receive a pizza party.

St. Vivian's helps holiday runners

SPRINGFIELD TWP. - Each of the expected 10,000 runners in the 94th Thanksgiving Day 10K Run/Walk will get a package containing items needed for the race, thanks to the children and staff at St. Vivian's School.

Last week the students prepared the bags, assembly-line fashion. Packages contain participants' timing chips, race numbers and envelopes.

The race will begin 9 a.m. Nov. 27 at Paul Brown Stadium.

'Mame' staged at Mercy High

WESTWOOD - Mother of Mercy High School will present the musical Mamefor the next two weekends in the school's Sister Mary Carlos Theatre, 3036 Werk Road.

Performances are 8 p.m. Nov. 14-15 and 21-22 and 7 p.m. Nov. 16 and 23. Tickets are $7, $6 for students. Call 661-2740 to reserve a seat.
