BATAVIA - An 18-year-old Franklin man has been charged with four misdemeanors in the September accident that killed a Northern Kentucky motorcyclist and injured several others.
Joshua A. Kash has been charged with one count of misdemeanor negligent vehicular homicide and three counts of misdemeanor negligent assault. Kash is free on $5,100 cash bond.
Clermont County Prosecutor Don White declined to discuss the case against Kash, saying only that officials think his negligence caused the Sept. 13 crash along U.S. 52 in Utopia.
The crash occurred shortly before 1:30 p.m. in eastern Clermont County just west of the Brown County line.
Nearly 200 motorcyclists were taking part in a benefit ride to help offset the medical expenses of another motorcyclist injured in a crash June 22.
Larry Rigdon, 52, of Maysville, Ky., was killed, while several others suffered serious injuries.
Authorities said the crash occurred as the group headed eastbound toward a blind curve, when a westbound 1991 Saturn driven by Kash came around the bend and crossed the center line, striking about seven bikes.
If convicted as charged, Kash could be sentenced to a year in jail.
