Norman J. Steffen
BURLINGTON - Norman J. Steffen, 79, a retired union plumber, and World War II Army veteran who earned a Purple Heart, died Sunday.
Survivors include his wife, Diana; a daughter, Melanie Skinner; two brothers, Paul and Bob, and two sisters, Mary Schnieder and Thelma Enzweiler.
Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Linnemann Funeral Home in Burlington. Mr. Steffen's remains were cremated.
Sarah Mae Alspach
FLORENCE - Sarah Mae Alspach, 86, of Florence, formerly of Erlanger, a retired waitress, died Friday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood.
Survivors include a nephew, Charles A. Brown; and a niece, Jo Ann Sorensen.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Erlanger. Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Homes are handling arrangements.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
Ethel B. Jump
FLORENCE - Ethel B. Meek Jump, 93, a retired sales associate for Avon, died Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital in Florence.
Her first husband, Arbie Meek, died in 1957; her second husband, Ervin Jump, died in 1962.
Survivors include a son, Lowell Meek, and a sister, Ruth Goff.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today and service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will be in Burlington Cemetery.

Nancy E. Cummings
ALEXANDRIA - Nancy E. Cummings, 72, a homemaker, died Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital in Fort Thomas.
She was a member of the ladies auxiliary for the Alexandria Fire Department and for Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3205 in Alexandria.
Survivors include four sons, Carl Jr., Curtis, Guy and Mark, and three brothers, Bruce Houp, Earl Houp and Raymond Houp.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Alexandria Funeral Home. Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery.

Joseph Lydon
ALEXANDRIA - Joseph Walter Lydon, 82, a facilities manager for the federal government with the Environmental Protection Agency in Cincinnati and a World War II Army veteran, died Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital in Fort Thomas.
His son, Jimmy, died in 2000.
Survivors include his wife, Marion; and a daughter, Pati Heck.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Alexandria Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Church, 121 W. Main St., Alexandria. Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery.
Ruth Hayes
GRANTS LICK - Ruth Opal Kersey Hayes, 91, of Ashland, Ky., formerly of Grants Lick, an employee for the former J.C. Penney department store in Newport, died Tuesday at her home in Ashland.
She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Ashland for 56 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Hayes, in 1962; by her son, Robert Allen Hayes, in 1976; and by a daughter, Clotine Harrison, in 2002.
Survivors include two daughters, Roberta Kemper and Bonnie Baker; and a son, Ronald.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday and service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fairview Baptist Church in Ashland. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashland.
Elmer Young Sr.
NEWPORT - Elmer Young Sr., 76, a retired custodian for the Cathedral Child Development Center in Covington, died Tuesday at Carmel Manor in Fort Thomas.
His stepson, Ronald Murphy, died on Oct. 16, 2003.
Survivors include his wife, Viola; a son, Elmer Jr.; two daughters, Helen Walls and Shirley Turner, and a stepdaughter, Dianna Fairchild.
Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. and a memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home in Newport. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Taylor Mill.

David W. Krebs
COVINGTON - David W. Krebs, 54, a production worker for Coca-Cola and Vietnam War Army veteran, died Wednesday at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Emma; a sister, Nadine Davis; a stepson, Christopher Foster, and a brother, Linville Krebs.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday and service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at A.C. Dobbling & Son Funeral Home in Bellevue. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Southgate.

FORT MITCHELL - Mary Lorean Rabe De Rosa, 78, of Toledo, Ohio, formerly of Fort Mitchell, a homemaker, died Nov. 6 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Patrick De Rosa; two sons, Christopher and Jeffery; two daughters, Kimberly Marie De Rosa, and Carol Ann Condon; a brother, Richard A. Rabe, and four sisters, Mary Catherine Singleton, Janet Farrell, Alice Wintershiemer and Elaine Kohlhepp.
Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home in Covington. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Church, 2415 Dixie Hwy., Fort Mitchell. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Fort Mitchell.

FORT WRIGHT - Lois Naltner Witte, 92, of Fort Wright, formerly of Fort Thomas, a retired secretary for the Cincinnati Charter Committee, died Monday at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Covington.
Her husband, Richard, died in 1983.
Survivors include a daughter, Janice Oehler; and a son, Richard L. Witte.
Visitation will be from 10-10:45 a.m. and prayers will be at 10:45 a.m. Friday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home in Fort Thomas. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Thomas Church, 26 E. Villa Place, Fort Thomas. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery in Montgomery, Ohio.
Roger Hollis
INDEPENDENCE - Roger Lehman Hollis, 82, a self-employed heavy equipment operator, and World War II Army Air Corps veteran, died Tuesday at his home in Independence.
Mr. Hollis was a deacon and an elder at Union Presbyterian Church. He ran the church's Goodwill Garden charity, and was a former troop leader for the Boy Scouts of America.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia; six daughters, Jo Carolyn Miller, Ava Lee Centers, Ruth Ann Town, Janelle Moellman, Vickie Meyer and Laura Hollis; six sons, Lehman, William and David Hollis, and Steve, Christopher and Trace Rachford, and a sister, Jayne May.
Memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Union Presbyterian Church. Mr. Hollis' remains will be cremated.
Bernard G. Meier
TAYLOR MILL - Bernard G. Meier, 77, a lens grinder for Cincinnati Optical Co. in Cincinnati for 32 years and World War II Army veteran, died Tuesday at his home in Taylor Mill.
Mr. Meier was a volunteer for the St. Vincent dePaul Society of Northern Kentucky for more than 40 years, was a member of American Legion Post 203 in Latonia, and was a member of St. Anthony Parish in Taylor Mill.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Williams Meier; three sons, Bernie, Michael and Tom; a brother, Clifford, and a sister, Lorraine Klug.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. today at Connley Brothers Funeral Home in Covington. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony Church, 485 Grand Ave., Taylor Mill. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery in Fort Wright.
