Cincinnati native Barbara Kreimer Stuart wrote a column called "Ask Barbara" for Railroad Magazine during the 1950s.
She also taught at the American School in Edinburgh, Scotland, for many years.
Ms. Stuart, 79, died of cancer and a stroke Oct. 22 in Washington D.C., where she had lived since returning from Edinburgh in July.
She grew up in Clifton and attended Clifton School and Walnut Hills High School before graduating from Hillsdale School.
She also graduated from the University of Cincinnati, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta.
Later, she took graduate courses at Columbia University, Sarah Lawrence College and the University of Birmingham, England.
In Cincinnati, Ms. Stuart worked in the registrar's office at the Salmon P. Chase College of Law.
Survivors include a sister, Mary "Mollie" Kreimer of Washington.
A memorial service is 1 p.m. Tuesday at Calvary Episcopal Church, 3766 Clifton Ave.
