Wall Street's volatility this week again shuffled the top teams playing the 10-week market simulation game, with another new team leading the local high school division.
Loveland High School's High Rollers team climbed from sixth to first place among Greater Cincinnati teams (and second among teams playing statewide).
Contrary to their team name, the students from Charles Warden's economics class seem to have a conservative buy-and-hold strategy. But it's a plan that's working through week six, especially with their pick of Bio Reference Laboratories Inc. (BRLI). The provider of clinical testing services has returned more than 29.4 percent for the High Rollers, helping push their portfolio to almost $116,763.
But the adult division has the big winner this week, with Michael Church having grown his mock $100,000 into $135,364. Church is also playing it conservatively, having invested in just three stocks.
