DELHI TWP. - Two elementary schools in the Oak Hills Schools are collecting items this week.
The student council at Rapid Run Middle School is sponsoring a food drive to benefit the Anderson Ferry Food Pantry as part of the school's participation in the Character Education Program.
Foodstuffs can be brought to the school, 6345 Rapid Run Road, through Friday. Students will deliver the items to the pantry.
Toys and other items for the infant unit at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center can be brought to C.O. Harrison Elementary School, 585 Neeb Road, through Friday.
Bevis plans Grandparents Day
COLERAIN TWP. - Bevis Elementary School students and their grandparents will celebrate Grandparents Day on Nov. 25.
Every year, grandparents spend 45 to 60 minutes with their grandchildren. The students will make presentations, have activities in the classroom and sing together.
Grandparents should come according to the following schedule: kindergarten, 9 a.m. or 1 p.m.; first grade, 10:15 a.m.; second grade, 10 a.m.; third grade, 11:30 a.m.; fourth grade, 11:45 a.m., and fifth grade, 12:05 p.m.

Glendale parents to share luncheon
GLENDALE - Several generations will join Glendale Elementary School Friday for a holiday luncheon to help celebrate American Education Week.
Parents and grandparents are invited to join students at 11:15 a.m. at the school, 930 Congress Road.
Madeira soccer victory party
MADEIRA - A program to celebrate the Madeira High School's boys' soccer team will begin 3 p.m. Sunday in the school gymnasium, 7465 Loannes Drive.
This is the second consecutive year the soccer Mustangs have won a state title.
Springmyer kids making ornaments
GREEN TWP. - Springmyer Elementary School's Youth Power Club will make patriotic holiday ornaments to send to soldiers in Iraq.
Students will be making the ornaments for the project, dubbed "Snowmen for the Soldiers," beginning 3:15 p.m. today at the school, 4179 Ebenezer Road.
Along with the ornaments, students will be writing notes of encouragement to the soldiers.
St. Bernard presents play
ST. BERNARD - Henrietta the Eighth will be performed Thursday and Friday at St. Bernard-Elm-wood Place High School, 4615 Tower Ave. Performances are at 7 p.m. each day.
Tickets for both performances are $5, $3 for students or senior citizens. They can be purchased at school or at the door.
Edgewood pitcher gets scholarship
TRENTON - An Edgewood High School senior will turn in his navy-and-white Cougar uniform for a cardinal-red one from the University of Louisville.
Pitcher Brian Hangbers will be honored for receiving a Cardinal baseball scholarship during a noon school assembly Thursday. He has been the ace of the Cougar pitching staff for the last three years.
Kenton students perform drama
INDEPENDENCE - Drama students at Simon Kenton High School will perform the comedic murder mystery Gorillas in Our Midst Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at the school, 1132 Madison Pike..
Showtime is 6:30 p.m. each day. Tickets are $5 each and include snacks. They can be purchased at school or the door.
