Ex-chairwoman on ethics panel
The Associated Press FRANKFORT - A former chairwoman of the Executive Branch Ethics Commission was appointed to the commission for a second time Wednesday. Gov. Paul Patton selected Cindy Stone of Louisville to replace Jack Segell, who died last month. Stone was heading the commission when it began investigating allegations that Patton did official favors for a former mistress, Tina Conner. Stone resigned before the commission filed charges, which Patton last week agreed to settle with a public reprimand and a $5,000 fine.
