Kentucky obituaries

Boone County

Emily Furnish

HEBRON - Emily Winchester Furnsih, 83, a retired teacher for Boone County Schools, died Thursday at Madonna Manor in Villa Hills. She was a deacon at Bullittsville Christian Church.

Her husband Nick died in 1998.

Survivors include daughters, Bev Furnish and Barb Sanders; sisters Ann Hardin and Jane Carr and brothers, Roy and Warren Winchester.

Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. and the service will be at 5 p.m. Sunday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home in Hebron.

Burial will be in Warsaw Cemetery in Warsaw, Ky.

Memorials: Villa Madonna Academy Capital Fund, 2500 Amsterdam Road, Villa Hills, KY 41017.

Campbell County

Mary E. Warf

DAYTON - Mary Emily Warf, 81, a homemaker, and member of Dayton Church of God, died Thursday at her home.

Her husband James died in 1999.

Survivors include: three daughters, Barbara Hicks, Mary Marquis and Wanda Paul; three sons, Henry, James and Larry, and a brother, Taylor Boshears.

Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. Sunday and the service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at A.C. Dobbling & Son Funeral Home in Bellevue. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Taylor Mill.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Thelma Wright

DAYTON - Thelma Nadicksbernd Wright, 90, a seamstress, died Thursday at Carmel Manor in Fort Thomas.

Her husband Raymond preceded her in death.

Survivors include: her niece, Jean Hannan; and her friends, Chester and Carolyn Riddle.

Visitation will be from 8:30-9:30 a.m. and the service will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Carmel Manor in Fort Thomas. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery in Fort Thomas. A.C. Dobbling & Son Funeral Homes are handling arrangements.

Memorials: Carmel Manor, 100 Carmel Manor Road, Fort Thomas, KY 41075.

Virgil Lee Morris

FORT THOMAS - Virgil Lee Morris, 58, of Waterford, Conn., formerly of Fort Thomas, who served in the Navy for 20 years, died Monday at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in New London, Conn.

Survivors include: his wife, Susan; a son, Joel; a daughter Justina Morris; his mother and stepfather, Bertha and Bernard Griffin, and two brothers, Charles and Paul.

Services were Thursday at Thomas L. Neilan & Sons East Lyme Funeral Home in Niantic, Conn.

Robert Scott Sr.

FORT THOMAS - Robert Arlyn Scott Sr., 69, owner and operator of Scott's Deluxe Market in Bellevue, died Friday at his home in Fort Thomas.

Mr. Scott was a Navy veteran, and a former police officer for the City of Southgate and the City of Dayton, Ky.

Survivors include: his wife, Barbara; two daughters, Kathy D'Alessandro and Karen Lamb; a son, Robert Jr.; six brothers, George, Jack, James, Kenneth, Marion and William, and a sister, Merilyn Searcy.

Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at A.C. Dobbling & Son Funeral Home in Fort Thomas. Service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Fort Thomas. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Taylor Mill.

Sherwood C. Daniel

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS - Sherwood C. Daniel, 65, a rate analyst for Besl Transfer Co. in Cincinnati, died Thursday in Alexandria.

Survivors include: three sons, James, Mark and Patrick; a daughter, Jennifer Kinman; four sisters, Marian Brems, Alice Jennings, Norma Link and Estelle "Sis" Wittrock and a brother, Richard.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Sunday and the service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Alexandria Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery in Fort Thomas.

Memorials: American Cancer Society, Northern Kentucky Unit, Nicholas Center, Suite A-2, 6612 Dixie Hwy., Florence, KY 41042.

Donna S. Cummins

SILVER GROVE - Donna S. Cummins, 65, a homemaker, died Wednesday at her home in Silver Grove.

Her husband, Floyd, died in 1990.

Survivors include: two daughters, Shelly Burchfield and Pam Weber, and a brother, Robert Lippert.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Fares J. Radel Funeral Home in Highland Heights. Her remains will be cremated.

Memorials: American Lung Association, P.O. Box 9067, Louisville, KY 45209-0067.

Grant County

Aurelia Wolfe

WILLIAMSTOWN - Aurelia Howell Wolfe, 90, a retired seamstress, died Wednesday at Gallatin Health Care Center in Warsaw, Ky.

Her husband, Ray Howell, and her daughter Anna Rae Howell died earlier.

Survivors include her son, William J. Howell.

Visitation has been held.

Service will be at 11 a.m. today at Stringtown Christian Church in Corinth. Burial will be in Pythian Grove Cemetery in Berry, Ky.

Elliston-Stanley Funeral Homes are handling arrangements.

Memorials: Stringtown Christian Church, 8475 Cordova Road, Corinth, KY 41010.

Kenton County

Alvin Walker

ERLANGER - Alvin Walker, 95, a retired quality inspector for the Bluegrass Army Depot near Richmond, Ky., and an Army veteran, died Wednesday at his home in Erlanger.

His wife Mattie Bell Jones died in 1986.

Surviving is his niece, Evelyn Tolliver.

No public services are planned.

Burial will be in Camp Nelson Cemetery in Nicholasville, Ky. Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Homes are handling arrangements.

Memorials can be sent to The Point/Arc of Northern Kentucky, 104 Pike Street, Covington, KY 41011.

Ethel M. Schleweiss

FORT MITCHELL - Ethel M. Schleweiss, 86, of Cincinnati, formerly of Fort Mitchell, died Thursday at Eastgate Health Care Center in Cincinnati.

Mrs. Schleweiss was an employee for Cincinnati Time Recorder for 25 years.

She was a member of Lakeside Christian Church in Lakeside Park.

Her husband Edward preceded her in death.

Survivors include: a daughter, Gaynell Trisler; and a brother, Elmo Rudd.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. and the service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Connley Brothers Funeral Home in Covington. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery in Fort Mitchell.

Memorials: Lakeside Christian Church, 195 Buttermilk Pike, Lakeside Park, KY 41017.

Pendleton County

Deborah Kay Vance

FALMOUTH - Deborah Kay Vance, 47, of Lakeland, Fla., formerly of Falmouth, a teacher and member of Oakland Christian Church in Pendleton County, died Oct. 28 at Lakeland Memorial Hospital in Lakeland, Fla.

Survivors include her parents, Max and Geneva Flynn Vance; and two sisters, Linda Joiner and Connie Madison.

Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Woodhead Funeral Home in Falmouth.

Burial will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery in Pendleton County.
