Today is the last day to stock up on German goodies at the Christkindlmarkt at Germania Park.
From noon to 6 p.m., you can shop for ornaments, linens, cuckoo clocks, advent calendars, nutcrackers and more. Also, enjoy beer and authentic German cabbage rolls, pretzels, sauerbraten and dill pickle soup, among other home-cooked delights.
Admission is $1. Children under 14 are admitted free.
This is the sixth year for the event, which is sponsored by volunteers from the Germania Society.
"People come here because they like the authenticity," said Millie VanHook, who along with her husband, Carl, work at the event. "They're wanting to go back to some sort of roots, and they can do that here."
