Boothe paces Xavier past IUPUI 64-48

Xavier won its home opener for the 12th year in a row, 64-48 over IUPUI (0-2) Sunday at Cintas Center.
Xavier (2-0) is idle until hosting Cincinnati in the annual Skyline Chili Crosstown Shootout at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Cintas Center. Tara Boothe (Highlands), a Freshman All-American last season, led Xavier with 21 points on 10 for 15 shooting. She also had four rebounds and four assists.
The Xavier bench contributed 32 points, led by 15 from senior Aida Sarajlija, eight from freshman Miranda Green and seven from Michele Miller (North College Hill).
No. 16 Ohio St. 71, Florida A&M 56
COLUMBUS - Jessica Davenport had 23 points and 12 rebounds to lead No. 16 Ohio State over Florida A&M on Sunday.
Caity Matter added 21 points, shooting 5 for 12 from 3-point range. Michelle Munoz had five points.
The Buckeyes (2-0) shot 46 percent, compared with 33 percent for the Rattlerettes (0-1).
NCAA RECORD: Savannah State scored only three first-half points against Florida State, setting an Division I women's record for lowest scoring in a half. The Tigers trailed 41-0 when LaTeisha Barnett made a free throw with 4:38 left in the half.
They finally hit a field goal with 56 seconds left to trail 54-3 at halftime. The Seminoles went on to win 107-28.
No. 1 UConn 95, Western Michigan 46: Diana Taurasi had 26 points and eight rebounds for Connecticut.
No. 3 Tennessee 83, Chattanooga 52: Shyra Ely had 20 points and nine rebounds
No. 16 Ohio State 71, Florida. A&M 56: Jessica Davenport had 23 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Buckeyes.
No. 4 Duke 93, No. 5 Purdue 63: Mistie Bass and Iciss Tillis controlled the inside in the second half of the Jimmy V Women's Classic.
No. 6 Stanford 79, Fordham 53: Nicole Powell had 20 points and nine rebounds as Stanford won its fifth straight home opener.
