USA rallies; Presidents Cup ends in a draw

After 34 matches and three playoff holes between Tiger Woods and Ernie Els, the Presidents Cup in South Africa was declared a tie.
Captains Jack Nicklaus of the defending champion United States and Gary Player of the International team agreed to share the cup.
LPGA TOUR: Ohio State product Meg Mallon outplayed Annika Sorenstam over the final nine holes and took advantage of a rare miscue by the world's best female player to beat her by one stroke in the season-ending ADT Championship.
UBS CUP: The United States kept the cup after Scott Hoch rallied for a draw against Eduardo Romero at St. Simons Island, Ga.
The Americans tied the Rest of the World 12-12, allowing the U.S. team to retain the title for the event in which six members of each team are 50 years or older and six are 40 to 49.
DUNLOP PHOENIX: Thomas Bjorn shot an even-par 71 to overtake third-round leader Sergio Garcia and win the Dunlop Phoenix tournament in Miyazaki, Japan.
PEBBLE BEACH: John Daly shot a 3-under-par 69 for a one-shot victory at the invitational, his second straight win and first in the United States in nine years.
Soccer
MLS CUP: Landon Donovan scored twice for the San Jose Earthquakes in a 4-2 victory over the Chicago Fire for the Major League Soccer's championship.
The title was the second in three years for San Jose.
Baseball
A-ROD TRADE: American League MVP Alex Rodriguez would accept a trade to either the Boston Red Sox or the New York Yankees, The Dallas Morning News reported Sunday.
Colleges
UC SOCCER: After a scoreless tie, sophomore midfielder Joey Gaworecki scored Kentucky's fourth penalty kick to lift UK (12-6-2) over Cincinnati (10-4-6) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Lexington. UK meets the Indiana Hoosiers (12-3-5) in Bloomington at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Tennis
FED CUP: Despite Martina Navratilova, 47, extending her Fed Cup record to 39-0, the Americans were beaten by France 4-1 in Moscow.
Amelie Mauresmo won the title-clinching match.
