NKU women cruise to victory

Nikki Perkins scored a career-high 19 points and Sharell Snardon added 17 points and 11 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the season as Northern Kentucky University dominated Kendall College 89-47 in the first round of its Community Recorder Classic Friday night.
NKU (5-3), ranked No. 21 in NCAA Division II, led 44-11 at the break, making 60.7 percent of its shots from the field while holding Kendall (3-12) to 15.6-percent shooting. The Norse led by as many 45 points in the second half.
NKU will host Fayetteville State, which defeated Missouri-Rolla 69-65 Friday, at 7:30 p.m. today in the title game at Regents Hall.
ILLINOIS: Guard Deron Williams is expected to miss three games after undergoing surgery for a broken jaw. The sophomore is averaging 12.9 points a game and has a team-best 12 steals for the Illini.
KANSAS: Forward Jeff Graves, who's averaging 3.8 points and four rebounds a game this season, was indefinitely suspended from the team for undisclosed reasons.
