Public safety

WESTWOOD - A 24-year-old man was arrested in downtown Cincinnati Saturday after a woman told police he raped her at his home in Westwood.

Based on the complainant's statement to police, Victor E. Smith was charged with rape.

Smith was being held Sunday at the Hamilton County Justice Center.

Nativity scene escapees returned to the corral

ROSS - "You promise you won't laugh?" asked a man who called the Butler County Sheriff's office Sunday morning.

He had just spotted two sheep wandering down Hamilton-Cleves Road.

The sheep, on loan from a farmer along with a donkey, were from the live Nativity scene in front of Charles Young Funeral Home in Ross.

The sheriff's office called the funeral home owner, Dan Young, who herded the sheep back to the Nativity scene.

"They both might have made it out at one point, but by the time I got there the other one must have gotten back inside the fence," Young said.
