CPS seeks tutors to help students learn English


In the schools

The Cincinnati Public School District's Second Language Acquisition Department is seeking tutors to assist students learning English as a second language.

Tutors do not need to speak or understand the students' native languages. The district will provide training.

Princeton schools collect for charity

SHARONVILLE - The Princeton City School District collected $24,486.41 during its 2003 United Way Campaign through staff contributions and the students' "Quarters for Caring" campaign.

Butlerville kids share Little Miami stage

MORROW - Butlerville Elementary School's holiday musical program featuring third- and fourth-graders will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Little Miami High School, 3001 E. Ohio 22/3. The high school's holiday band concert will follow.

Fairfield musicians to perform Thursday

FAIRFIELD - The Fairfield Intermediate School's Gold Band Concert will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday in the school's gymnasium, 255 Donald Drive. Fairfield Senior High School's Chamber Winds and Wind Ensemble Concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the school's performing arts center, 8800 Holden Blvd.

SCPA presents annual 'Nutcracker'

NORTH COLLEGE HILL - The School of the Creative and Performing Arts will present The Nutcracker at 3 p.m. Sunday at North College Hill Junior/Senior High School, 1620 Galbraith Road.

Hamilton High jazz band to raise funds

HAMILTON - The Richards Jazz Fest fund-raiser featuring the Hamilton High Jazz Band will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Richard's Pizza, 417 Main St.---
