Meeting to discuss trustee replacement

GREEN TWP. - Township trustees have set a special meeting shortly before New Year's Day to discuss appointing a new trustee after Paul Rattermann resigned the position after the November election.

Trustees Tony Upton and Stephen Grote decided at Monday night's meeting to meet at 7 p.m. Dec. 29 at the Green Township Administration Building, 6303 Harrison Ave.

Rattermann announced his resignation in late November, leaving the two remaining trustees in one of Ohio's largest townships until the end of December to agree on a trustee who would serve the remaining two years on the term.

If Grote and Upton cannot agree at the special meeting, the decision lies with Rattermann's nominating committee - a committee of five supporters he compiled after being elected in 2001.

Anyone interested in the FluMist nasal vaccine, at a cost of $60, should call the office at 887-5237 before coming in.

The voice mail number is 218-5286.

Crimes in progress should be reported directly to the Cincinnati police.

Toy distribution for poorer kids

FAIRFIELD TWP. - Volunteers from a church in Fairfield Township are collecting new toys to be distributed on Christmas Eve to poor Butler County residents.

Women of Hope Ministries and the Hope Evangelistic Outreach Center, 3987 Hamilton-Middletown Road (Ohio 4), will give the toys to young children and teenagers on the Butler County Courthouse steps at 3 p.m. Dec. 24.

"We want to make sure everyone gets at least one toy," says Vicky Lawwill of Women of Hope Ministries.

Her organization handed out Thanksgiving dinners to about 500 people at the courthouse last month.

To donate toys, contact Lawwill at 200-0683.
