Bass to transfer from OSU
The Associated Press
COLUMBUS - Charles Bass, who banked in a free throw to upset Michigan State in last year's Big Ten tournament semifinals, has notified coach Jim O'Brien he intends to transfer.
The 6-foot-9 sophomore center/forward from University Park, Ill., said he does not know where he will transfer.
"I had a good time here," Bass said Tuesday in a statement. "Things just didn't work out as I had planned."
Bass seldom played for the Buckeyes, who had a 17-15 record last season, but is remembered for stepping to the foul line with 6 seconds left and the score tied against Michigan State in March. Bass had not shot a free throw all season.
BAYLOR: Junior guard Ellis Kidd Jr. has been dismissed from the program for violating team policy, coach Scott Drew said Tuesday.
Heath Nielsen, director of media relations, said he couldn't comment on the reasons for the dismissal.
He said it had no connection to any ongoing investigation at Baylor. A committee is looking into violations in the men's basketball program that occurred under former coach Dave Bliss and the university has imposed sanctions against itself.
