CANTON - Fire engulfed a house early Tuesday, killing four children and two adults hours after some of them decorated a Christmas tree at the home, authorities said.
A seventh person, Nicole Cavanaugh, 21, was in critical condition at Akron Children's Hospital. One of the victims, Donald Knight, ran into the two-story house to try to rescue his nephew and the others, said his brother, James Knight.
Investigators did not know what caused the fire.
Study finds voucher students perform OK
CLEVELAND - Students in the Cleveland voucher program performed on the same level as their public school peers, according to a Indiana University study.
After tracking the test scores of 6,000 students from kindergarten through fourth grade, the researchers found virtually no difference in performance.
Kentucky soldier helped find Saddam
OWENSBORO, Ky. - Although he won't be home for Christmas, U.S. Army Spc. Wilbur Trae Wright of Daviess County already received one gift.
Wricht, 21, was part of the team that found former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein on Dec. 13.
"Trae said he was so close he saw Saddam come up out of the hole," his mother, Mary Wright, said Monday.
Hospitals ask flu patients to stay home
