Comparison shopping: Finding the best price just got a little easier with, the new comparison shopping Web site introduced by the American Homeowners Association. Free for the first 30 days, then $8.25 a month, the site lets you find the lowest price at more than 4,000 stores, browse the retailer, check user reviews and get shipping covered. Shipping charges up to $25 are rebated. The name comes from FRee Online shopping for peOPLE.

Paint-by-number murals: You don't have to be a Michelangelo to turn plain-Jane kids' room walls into fantasy castles or tropical jungles with paint-by-number murals by Wall Art. Sizes range from 5 by 3 feet to 111/2 by 61/2 feet, starting at about $50.

New country: Ethan Allen puts a little sophistication into relaxed living with its New Country line, combining the best of American English and European styles. Constructed mostly of maple, American hardwood and veneers, it offers several finishes, including a barn red, seafoam green and charcoal. Decorating experts: Get the latest design insights from the pros at the Ohio Design Centre in Beachwood (near Cleveland) with a series of monthly Tuesday Design Salons, beginning 10 a.m. Jan. 13. The Centre, housing 16 showrooms and representing 400 manufacturers, is a one-stop showplace for furniture, fabrics, wall coverings, rugs, lighting, art and accessories.

The free Tuesdays, each limited to 25 people, include: Tibetan Treasures highlighting Oriental rugs, Jan. 13; Embellish-

ments from the White House to Your Home, Feb. 25; Look Under the Covers, new sofa trends and spotting quality, March 23.
