WEST PRICE HILL - A 35-year-old man was arrested after he threatened to rape a woman early Sunday, then showed up at her home in a cab, according to police reports.
Gregory Craig called the woman at 5:15 a.m. Sunday saying he was coming to her home to rape her, police said. When Craig appeared there less than half an hour later, police were waiting, reports said.
Craig was arrested and charged with robbery, domestic violence and telecommunications harassment.
Passerby stops break-in; 1 arrested
DOWNTOWN - An Over-the-Rhine man was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery and criminal damaging after a passerby saw him break into a Chevrolet Trail Blazer downtown Saturday night, police said.
When the passerby tried to stop Wendell Wilson, 43, from breaking into the SUV at 800 Race Street at 6:50 p.m., Wilson pulled out a large box cutter and tried to cut the passerby, according to police reports.
Wilson then tried to flee, but police arrested him, reports said.
Crash kills 85-year-old; other driver unhurt
MOUNT WASHINGTON - An 85-year-old Kentucky man died Saturday evening after turning into oncoming traffic on Kellogg Avenue, police said.
James Whitsett of Fort Thomas tried to turn his 1979 Caprice Classic east from Salem Avenue onto Kellogg Avenue past the westbound lanes of traffic at about 5:50 p.m. when a 1998 Dodge Ram pickup truck struck him, police said.
Whitsett was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver, Matthew Robinson, 27 was not injured
Two-car accident kills passenger near Union
UNION, Ky. - A 20-year-old man was killed Sunday in a two-car crash at the intersection of U.S. 42 and Beaver Road in Boone County, about 11/4 miles south of Union.
David Miller was a front-seat passenger in a Honda that exited Beaver Road onto U.S. 42 and was struck by an eastbound vehicle, the Boone County Sheriff's Office said. Miller was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
The drivers and other passengers in both vehicles suffered minor injuries, the sheriff's office said. The crash occurred at 12:43 p.m.
Driver runs from police dogs, jumps in river
Trying to evade police dogs that chased him after a hit-skip car accident, a Crescent Springs man jumped into the Ohio River Saturday night, but he was fished out and arrested, police said.
Michael Jones, 39, was intoxicated when he crashed into another car at 1500 Columbia Parkway around 8 p.m. Saturday, police said.
Jones was charged with drunken driving, obstructing arrest and leaving the scene of an accident.
