ANDERSON TWP. - Robert H. "Bob" Brown, a retired regional group manager for TransAmerica Occidental Life Insurance of Los Angeles, won numerous track and field awards in the Senior Olympics in the early '90s.
Mr. Brown, 78, died Dec. 29 at his home in Anderson Township surrounded by his family.
A native of Suffolk, Va., Mr. Brown served with the Army Air Corps in the South Pacific during World War II.
After the war, he attended Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Va., where he was a member of the football and track and field teams. He remained an active alumnus.
Mr. Brown taught and coached at a high school in Virginia prior to taking a job with TransAmerica Occidental. The company brought him to Greater Cincinnati in the early 1960s.
He retired in 1987 after 30 years with the company.
Mr. Brown loved music.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Janice S. Brown; two sons, Robert H. Brown Jr. and Kevin S. Brown, both of Anderson Township; a daughter, Bonnie A. Kroger, Anderson Township; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Services have been held.
Memorials can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
